During his career, he appeared in over 73 movies and around 100 television movies or episodes. He was best known for playing the character Jacob Carter on the television series Stargate SG-1. He was a lifetime member of the Actor's Studio, and he studied and taught acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York, working alongside Sanford Meisner, Lee Grant, Milton Katselas, and Lee Strasberg.
