Simon Callow is an English actor born on 13 June 1949 in Streatham, London, England, UK. He is known for his work as a character actor on stage and screen. Callow originated the title role of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the 1979 Peter Shaffer play Amadeus and portrayed Emanuel Schikaneder in the 1984 film adaptation. He has received numerous accolades, including an Olivier Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award, and has been nominated for two BAFTA Awards. Callow was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his services to acting in 1999. He has a long career with over 191 known credits.
