Omnibus was a BBC television documentary series that focused on the arts. The programme was broadcast mainly on BBC1 in the United Kingdom and was the successor to the long-running arts-based series Monitor. It ran from 1967 until 2003, usually being transmitted on Sunday evenings. During its history, the programme won 12 Bafta awards, which is a notable achievement. The series featured a range of documentaries, including profiles of notable figures such as David Bowie and Ridley Scott. Some of the series' best remembered documentaries include Cracked Actor, a profile of David Bowie, and a profile of the British film director Ridley Scott. The programme was an arts-based series that covered various topics and featured concerts and experimental dramatizations.
