Assing Leonard Gonzales Aki Aleong, also known as Assing Aki Aleong, was a Trinidadian actor, singer, writer, producer, and activist whose career spanned more than sixty years. Born in Port of Spain, Trinidad, Trinidad and Tobago on December 19, 1934, he appeared on Broadway in The Teahouse of the August Moon and The Interview before embarking on a lengthy career in film and television. His professional work included roles in Hong Kong, Outer Limits, and Babylon 5. In addition to his entertainment career, Aleong served on the National Board of the Screen Actors Guild, was appointed National Chair of SAG'S EEOC, and served as a member of the President's Diversity and Affirmative Action Task Force. He also held leadership roles as Executive Director of AIM, Vice President of The Media Coalition of Los Angeles, and President of MANAA.

Furthermore, he held leadership roles as the Executive Director of Asians in Media, Vice President of The Media Coalition of Los Angeles, and President of the Media Action Network for Asian-Americans. Among his numerous honors, he received an Honorary Doctorate from New Dimensions University in 2013.
