The television series V depicts Earth as a battleground for a conflict involving extraterrestrial visitors. These aliens maintain a human guise to conceal their true reptilian natures. Following their initial arrival, the extraterrestrials have become wiser in their approach to occupying the planet. The central conflict of the series revolves around the survival of the alien species on Earth, which they believe depends on the genetic material of a newly born entity known as the Starchild. This being is a hybrid of human and spaceling biology. The human Resistance Fighters, who oppose the alien presence, recognize the significance of the Starchild and work to prevent the visitors from obtaining the child. The narrative focuses on the ongoing struggle between the Resistance and the aliens as they compete for control over the future of the planet and the unique DNA of the hybrid infant.
