Biography

Lyle Talbot, born Lisle Henderson, was an American stage and screen actor. His film career spanned from 1931 to 1960, beginning under contract with Warner Brothers during the early era of sound film. Throughout his career, he appeared in more than 150 films, transitioning from a young matinee idol to a character actor and star of numerous B movies. On television, he appeared in programs during the 1950s and 1960s, most notably portraying Joe Randolph, the friend and neighbor of Ozzie Nelson, for ten years on the ABC situation comedy The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. Talbot was a founding member of the Screen Actors Guild and served on its board. His career is documented in a book by his youngest child.
