Overview
Surfside 6 is an ABC television series that aired from 1960 to 1962. The show centers on a Miami Beach detective agency set on a houseboat and features Troy Donahue, Van Williams, and Lee Patterson as the main characters. Van Williams plays Kenny Madison, a character that was also in Bourbon Street Beat, while Lee Patterson plays Dave Thorne and Troy Donahue plays Sandy Winfield II. The series also includes Diane McBain as socialite Daphne Dutton and Margarita Sierra as Cha Cha O'Brien, an entertainer who works at The Boom Boom Room, a popular Miami Beach hangout at the Fontainebleau Hotel. The detectives spend time at the Fontainebleau Hotel when they are not pursuing criminals. Surfside 6 was one of several detective series from Warner Brothers, following the success of 77 Sunset Strip. The series is set in Miami Beach, Florida, and deals with the exploits of the detectives who operate out of a houseboat.
