Ewen Bremner is a Scottish character actor born in Edinburgh on January 23, 1972. He is the son of two art teachers and attended Davidson's Mains Primary School and Portobello High School. Although he originally wanted to be a circus clown, television director Richard D. Brooks offered him an opportunity at screen acting. One of his early notable roles was playing a Glasgow schoolboy in Charles Gormley's 1986 film Heavenly Pursuits. He also starred in the BBC Scotland feature-length adaptation of William McIlvanney's short story Dreaming in 1990.
