Biography
Ewan Gordon McGregor is a Scottish actor born on March 31, 1971, in Perth, Scotland. He studied drama at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and began his career with a leading role in the 1993 British series Lipstick on Your Collar. McGregor gained international recognition for his performance as Mark Renton in the 1996 film Trainspotting and his portrayal of Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. His filmography includes roles in Moulin Rouge! and Black Hawk Down. McGregor has received a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award for his work. In 2013, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for his services to drama and charity.
