Her family fled their native country and was granted asylum in the United States, where she was raised in Northern Virginia as the middle child with two sisters. Ghanizada began her on-air camera career appearing in several national commercials. She played the lead role of Chiara in the 2004 Laura Neri film A Kiss on the Nose, earning a film festival best actress nomination for her performance. Her television guest-starring credits include How I Met Your Mother, Entourage, Veronica Mars, The Wedding Bells, NUMB3RS, and Bones.
