Martial leaves MU in Summer 2024
In September 2015, Anthony Martial left AS Monaco to join MU for a total transfer fee of 44.7 million pounds. However, since then, the French striker has only had two seasons that met expectations, including 2015/16 (scored 17 goals) and 2019/20 (scored 23 goals).
In other football seasons, Martial often got injured or lost form, so he did not contribute much to MU. Particularly in the 2021/22 season, the 27-year-old striker only appeared in 11 matches in all competitions and scored. 1 goal.

Martial is a technical player, his speed and ability to shoot with his right foot are extremely impressive. However, the former French player is quite lazy in training and playing inconsistently. Every time he plays on the field, he does not actively participate in the team’s pressing play.
Although coach Erik ten Hag created conditions for him to play, Martial has only contributed 2 goals and 2 assists after 19 appearances in all competitions this season.
Martial’s current contract with MU will expire in June 2024 with a salary of 250,000 pounds/week. Accompanied by an option to extend for another 1 year. However, according to The Athletic, the “Red Devils” Board of Directors decided not to activate that clause.
Therefore, if no club buys Martial in the next winter transfer window, he will officially leave Old Trafford as a free player from July 1, 2024.
