Yesterday (December 12), Thailand’s leading daily newspaper Siam Sport released a ranking of the best goalkeepers in Southeast Asia at the present time.
Dang Van Lam is still the number 1 choice in the wooden frame of the Vietnamese national team.
Two Vietnamese goalkeepers, Dang Van Lam and Filip Nguyen, both have high positions on this ranking.
As for Van Lam, he was ranked second on this list by the Golden Temple newspaper, only behind goalkeeper Neil Etheridge of the Philippines.
Assessing the Vietnamese-Russian goalkeeper, Siam Sport newspaper wrote: “He is currently the number one goalkeeper of the Vietnam national team. But in the near future he will have to compete with Filip Nguyen. Dang Van Lam has held an official position in the Vietnam national team since 2018. He plays very prominently.
Dang Van Lam once went to Thailand to play football for Muangthong United Club. After that, he went to Japan to play for Cerezo Osaka Club, but his time in Japan was considered a failure.
Meanwhile, with Filip Nguyen, he was ranked 5th in Southeast Asia by the Thai newspaper. Siam Sport newspaper said that the reason why Filip Nguyen is ranked lower than Van Lam is because he has never played for the Vietnam national team.
“Filip Nguyen has experience playing in the Europa League. This goalkeeper just helped CAHN Club win the V.League championship. Currently, Filip Nguyen is ready to challenge goalkeeper Dang Van Lam’s position,” Siam Sport wrote.
According to the rankings of the Golden Temple newspaper, other positions in the top 10 include: Neil Etheridge (Philippines), Dang Van Lam, Chatchai Butprom (Thailand), Michael Falkesgaard (Philippines), Filip Nguyen, Khammai (Thailand). ), Hassan Sunny (Singapore), Sayihan Hazmi (Malaysia), Siwarak Thesungnoen (Thailand) and Kawin Thamsatchanan (Thailand).
