According to the investigation results, Kieu is the warehouse manager of the gold shop, directly receives gold from the shop owner and delivers it to the craftsman. After having the finished gold product, Kieu is also responsible for checking it before bringing it to the counter for sale.
Taking advantage of the shop owner’s trust, from the end of 2022 to the end of 2023, Kieu stole 160 taels of gold from the shop, worth nearly 8 billion VND.
When the shop owner discovered his actions and reported them to the police, Kieu surrendered.
At the investigation agency, Kieu declared that she gave the gold she took to her husband, Quang. Quang spent all of the above gold before committing a robbery and dying on the run.
The investigation agency also recorded many transactions of Quang with large amounts of money, suspected to be gambling. On the evening of November 30, 2023, Quang drove Lai The Viet (22 years old, living in Hai Phong City) with a gun to rob a gold store in Chau Thanh district, Tra Vinh.
