In Group D, coach Philippe Troussier and his team will play their opening match against championship candidate Japan at 2:30 p.m. local time (6:30 p.m. Vietnam time) on January 14, at Al Thumama Stadium. In the second match, the “Golden Star Warriors” will face the Indonesian team at 9:30 p.m. on January 19 Vietnam time at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium. The Vietnamese team will close its journey in the 2023 Asian Cup group stage with a match against the Iraqi team at 6:30 p.m. on January 24 Vietnam time, at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.
