The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music to handle it strictly
Recently, musician Luu Thien Huong caused a stir among netizens when he posted a long article condemning his colleague, lecturer, Meritorious Artist Minh Huyen, currently working at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music. According to Luu Thien Huong, this lecturer had slandered and insulted her and her students. She even had the phone thrown in her face by this person. The female musician believes that this is a serious violation of professional ethics, so she immediately stopped teaching, reported the incident to the board of directors of the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music and is waiting for the above case to be handled.
Before the above incident, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Anh Tuan, Director of the Department of Training, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that the Ministry has currently received a report from the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music on the resolution of lecturer Luu Huong Giang’s lawsuit. The Ministry has requested the Conservatory to handle it strictly so as not to affect the image of the educational unit, especially the image and reputation of the school’s lecturers.

Talking to Dan Viet on the evening of January 12, musician Luu Thien Huong said: “The incident happened for a few days, immediately after that, I reported it to the leadership of the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music. But over many days , I waited for the leadership of the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music to handle the case but there was still no action, this made me very sad so I had to bring the matter to light. Knowing that it would have an impact to self-image, and the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, but this is good for young people studying here because they need to know the truth.”
According to the female musician, her action was to protect the right, using her expertise to confirm that the students were not wrong, and she was insulted and almost abused by Meritorious Artist Vo Thi Minh Huyen. “I am very sad to have to post this bad clip because I know it will greatly affect the perspective of the formal music training environment” – Luu Thien Huong shared.
Faced with Luu Thien Huong’s drastic move, at 3:00 p.m. on January 12, the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music held a meeting with the participation of relevant stakeholders: Party Committee; Board of manager; Head of the Department of Jazz-Pop-Rock and Music Technology; Head of the People’s Inspection Committee; Department of Training, Scientific Management and International Cooperation, Department of Administration and General Affairs; Personnel Organization Department, Student Affairs Department.
After discussing and reviewing the incident, the Council concluded that lecturer Minh Huyen, in a moment of anger, was unable to control his behavior and had attitudes and actions that did not meet the standards of lecturers. The Council proposed a form of disciplinary reprimand for lecturer Vo Thi Minh Huyen, and requested lecturer Vo Thi Minh Huyen to apologize to lecturer Luu Thien Huong at the upcoming conciliation meeting of the Board of Directors. Conservatory of Music, handled in accordance with the provisions of the Code of Conduct of the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music.
