Urusei Yatsura is a Japanese anime television series based on the manga of the same name by Rumiko Takahashi. The show aired on Fuji TV from October 14, 1981, to March 19, 1986. It was produced by Kitty Films and Fuji TV, with animation handled by Studio Pierrot for the first 106 episodes. The series centers on Ataru Moroboshi, a tenth-grade student whose life changes when he encounters Lum Invader, an alien princess. After accidentally agreeing to marry Lum during an alien invasion, Ataru finds himself caught in ongoing chaos involving extraterrestrial visitors and complications with his relationships, particularly with his sweetheart Shinobu. The arrival of various aliens causes continuous disruptions in the small town of Tomobiki, affecting both Ataru's daily life and his reputation. The show blends science fiction and comedy elements while exploring themes of romance and misunderstanding.
