Overview
Kill la Kill is a Japanese anime television series created and produced by Studio Trigger that originally aired between 2013 and 2014. The series follows Ryuko Matoi, a transfer student who arrives at Honnouji Academy searching for her father's killer. The school is under the strict control of student council president Satsuki Kiryuin. Ryuko carries a giant sword that is half of a scissor and seeks the person who holds the other half. During her investigation, Ryuko encounters resistance from the student council, who possess powerful "Goku Uniforms" that enhance their strength. After being defeated in an early confrontation, Ryuko gains access to her own special garment called a "Kamui" named Senketsu, which allows her to fight back. The series was directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi and written by Kazuki Nakashima. It ran for 24 episodes with an additional OVA episode released later. The show features voice performances by Ami Koshimizu, Toshihiko Seki, Aya Suzaki, and Shin'ichirô Miki. Kill la Kill is known for its distinctive animation style and action-oriented narrative centered on Ryuko's quest for justice.
