Overview

Assassination Classroom is a Japanese anime series based on the manga by Yūsei Matsui. The story follows the students of Class 3-E, a group of misfit junior high school students who are given an unusual assignment: assassinate their new teacher, Koro-sensei. This octopus-like creature has destroyed the moon and threatens to destroy Earth within a year unless he is killed first. Despite this ominous premise, Koro-sensei proves to be a dedicated and effective teacher, using unconventional methods to educate his students while also training them in various skills that may help them fulfill their mission. The series aired from 2015 to 2016 and was directed by Takashi Kobayashi. It features voice performances by actors including Jun Fukuyama and Mai Fuchigami. The show blends action, comedy, and drama as it explores themes of education, personal growth, and moral complexity. The students must grapple with the challenge of trying to kill someone who may be the best teacher they have ever had.
