Overview

High School DxD is a Japanese anime television series that aired from 2012 to 2018. The show is based on the light novel series of the same name written by Ichiei Ishibumi and illustrated by Miyama-Zero. The story follows Issei Hyodo, a high school student with unconventional aspirations who experiences an untimely death on what he believes to be his first date. He is later resurrected by a beautiful senpai who reveals herself as a devil, subsequently becoming his master. Now living as a devil, Issei's ordinary high school life is disrupted as he becomes involved in supernatural conflicts. The series was produced by Media Factory and has been made available through various streaming platforms including Crunchyroll. Episodes from the series have been compiled into DVD and Blu-ray volumes, with the first volume released in March 2012. The show explores themes of power struggles between devils and angels while incorporating elements of fantasy and action. A notable plot development involves the sudden death of a character named Asia, which leads to Issei accessing a powerful form called Juggernaut Drive. During this event, other characters such as Rias, Azazel, and Sir Zechs encounter the leader of an organization known as the Chaos Brigade.
