Vanessa Redgrave is an English actress and political activist born on January 30, 1937, in Greenwich, London, England, UK. She rose to prominence in 1961 with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Redgrave has starred in over 35 productions in London's West End and on Broadway, winning the Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Revival in 1984 and the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play in 2003. She is a six-time Oscar nominee and has won the Academy Award for Best Actress. Redgrave has also received Tony nominations for The Year of Magical Thinking and Driving Miss Daisy.
