Biography

Sherry Lea Stringfield is an American actress born on June 24, 1967. She is widely recognized for her portrayal of Dr. Susan Lewis on the medical television drama ER. As an original cast member of the series, she received three Emmy Award nominations for the role. Although she was contractually obligated to appear for five seasons, she departed the show during its third season. She later reprised the character in 2001 before leaving the production again in 2005. Beyond her work on ER, Stringfield held regular roles on the television programs NYPD Blue and Guiding Light. While her professional career has focused primarily on television, she has also performed in various film roles.
