Yvette Freeman is an American actress. She made her Broadway debut in 1979 in the original production of Ain't Misbehavin'. Freeman has also appeared in Off-Broadway productions, including a portrayal of Dinah Washington in the 1998 play Dinah Was, for which she won an Obie Award. On television, she is known for her roles in the NBC medical drama series ER, the TV series Working, and the series Orange Is the New Black. Freeman was born in Wilmington, Delaware, and later moved to New York City to pursue a career in acting. She has appeared in numerous stage productions and television shows, with a total of 33 known credits.
