Third Watch is an American crime drama television series that aired on NBC from September 23, 1999, to May 6, 2005. The program was created by John Wells and Edward Allen Bernero and spanned a total of 132 episodes over six seasons. The series follows the exploits of a group of men and women who serve the City of New York as police officers, firefighters, and paramedics. These individuals work together during the same shift, which runs from 3pm to 11pm, at a fictional location known as the 55th precinct. This shift is referred to as the third watch. The cast of the series includes Coby Bell, Skipp Sudduth, Jason Wiles, and Molly Price. The term third is defined as being next after the second in place or time, representing an ordinal number used to show the position or order of things. The show depicts the professional and personal lives of these emergency responders as they navigate their duties within the city.
