Richard Dreyfuss is an American actor born on October 29, 1947. He has been active in film, television, and theater since the late 1960s. Dreyfuss has appeared in numerous films, including American Graffiti, Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, The Goodbye Girl, Stakeout, Always, What About Bob?, and Mr. Holland's Opus. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor in 1977 for The Goodbye Girl and was nominated in 1995 for Mr. Holland's Opus. Dreyfuss has also received a Golden Globe Award and a BAFTA Award. He was nominated for Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2002 for his work in television.
