Overview

Himitsu Sentai Gorenger is a Japanese tokusatsu television series that premiered in 1975. Known in English as Secret Squadron Gorenger, the program falls under the action, adventure, science fiction, fantasy, and drama genres. The narrative centers on the Earth Guard League, also known as EAGLE, which serves as the primary defense organization against the Black Cross Army. This powerful terrorist organization poses a global threat and seeks to destroy the Earth. In a series of retaliatory strikes, the Black Cross Army successfully destroys multiple EAGLE headquarters throughout Japan. These attacks result in the deaths of nearly all personnel, leaving only five survivors. These remaining members are recruited to form a secret, powerful team known as the Gorenger. As the only force capable of opposing the enemy, the Gorenger must fight to stop the Black Cross Army and their evil leader, the Black Cross Führer. The series is categorized as a children's program and is recognized for its role in the tokusatsu genre.
