Biography
Quentin Jerome Tarantino, born March 27, 1963, in Knoxville, Tennessee, is an American film director, screenwriter, producer, cinematographer, and actor. He gained prominence in the early 1990s as an independent filmmaker known for nonlinear storytelling and stylized depictions of violence. His films often feature extensive dialogue, profanity, and pop culture references, earning both critical acclaim and cult followings. Notable works include Pulp Fiction, Inglourious Basterds, and Django Unchained. Tarantino's career has been marked by numerous award nominations and wins, including Academy Awards, Golden Globes, BAFTAs, and a Palme d'Or. In 2007, Total Film ranked him the 12th-greatest director of all time.
