Biography
Walter Bruce Willis, born March 19, 1955, in Idar-Oberstein, West Germany, is a retired American actor and comedian. He began his career in off-Broadway theater during the 1970s before gaining prominence as a television star in the comedy-drama Moonlighting from 1985 to 1989. Willis became widely recognized as an action hero through his role as John McClane in the Die Hard film series, which spanned from 1988 to 2013. Over his career, he appeared in more than seventy films, including Pulp Fiction, The Sixth Sense, and 12 Monkeys. Known for his wisecracking and hard-edged characters, Willis achieved broad commercial success, with his films collectively grossing over $2.5 billion at the box office. He was born in West Germany while his father was stationed at a U.S. military base and later moved to New Jersey in 1957.
