Overview
"Twelve Monkeys" is a science fiction film released in 1995. The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where a deadly virus has devastated the earth's population, forcing survivors to live in underground communities. A convict, James Cole, volunteers to be sent back in time to find the origin of the virus. However, Cole is mistakenly sent to an earlier time period and is subsequently arrested and confined to a mental institution. While in the institution, Cole meets a psychiatrist, Dr. Kathryn Railly, and the son of a renowned expert on the virus. The son may hold the key to understanding the Army of the 12 Monkeys, a group believed to be responsible for unleashing the deadly disease.
