Nancy Kovack was born on March 11, 1935, in Flint, Michigan. She was a student at the University of Michigan at age 15, a radio deejay at 16, and a college graduate at 19, holding eight beauty titles by age 20. Her professional acting career began on television in New York, where she worked as one of Jackie Gleason's Glea Girls and appeared on The Dave Garroway Show, Today, and Beat the Clock. A stage role subsequently opened doors in Hollywood, leading her to sign with Columbia. She later accumulated numerous episodic television credits and received an Emmy nomination for a 1969 guest appearance on Mannix. Credited also as Nancy Mehta, she played the murder victim in the television movie and series pilot Ellery Queen, which was also known as Too Many Suspects in 1975.
