Biography
Kevin McCarthy was an American actor born in Seattle, Washington, on February 15, 1914. His parents were Roy Winfield McCarthy and Martha Therese, whose maiden name was Preston, and his father descended from a wealthy Irish American family based in Minnesota. McCarthy is best remembered as the male lead in the 1956 horror science fiction film Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Following several television guest roles, he gave his first credited film performance as Biff Loman in Death of a Salesman in 1951, starring alongside Fredric March as Willy Loman. This role earned him a Golden Globe Award and a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. McCarthy passed away on September 11, 2010.
