Biography
Katy Jurado, born María Cristina Estela Marcela Jurado García, was a Mexican stage and screen actress who lived from January 16, 1924, to July 5, 2002. After establishing her career in Mexico during the 1940s, she moved to Hollywood and became a regular in Western films throughout the 1950s and 1960s. Over the course of her career, she appeared in seventy-one films. She worked alongside notable actors such as Gary Cooper, Spencer Tracy, and Marlon Brando, and collaborated with directors including Fred Zinneman, Sam Peckinpah, and John Huston. Her filmography includes titles such as High Noon, Broken Lance, One-Eyed Jacks, The Wild Bunch, Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, and Under the Volcano.
