L.Q. Jones
Biography
L.Q. Jones was an American character actor. Born on August 19, 1927, in Beaumont, Texas, he is known for his work in the films of Sam Peckinpah. Jones served in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1946. He attended Lamar Junior College and studied law at the University of Texas at Austin from 1950 to 1951. Prior to acting, Jones worked as a stand-up comic, played professional baseball and football, and tried ranching in Nicaragua. He is also known to have corresponded with his former college roommate, Fess Parker, before turning to acting. Jones had a long acting career, with 138 known credits.
