Manuel Antonio Rodolfo Quinn Oaxaca, known professionally as Anthony Quinn, was a Mexican-American actor born on April 21, 1915, in Chihuahua, Mexico. He died on June 3, 2001, at the age of 86. During his career, he amassed 215 known acting credits in movies and television shows. Outside of his acting work, he was also a writer, painter, and civil rights activist. His professional repertoire included starring roles in numerous critically acclaimed and commercially successful films such as Zorba the Greek, Lawrence of Arabia, The Guns of Navarone, The Message, Lion of the Desert, and La Strada. Additionally, he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor twice, receiving the honor for his performances in Viva Zapata! in 1952 and Lust for Life in 1956.
