Biography
Joseph Hill Whedon is an American screenwriter, director, producer, comic book writer, and composer born on June 23, 1964. He is recognized as the creator of several television series, including the supernatural drama Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which aired from 1997 to 2003, and its spinoff Angel, which ran from 1999 to 2004. His other television work includes the space Western Firefly, the Internet musical miniseries Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, the science fiction drama Dollhouse, the Marvel Cinematic Universe series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and the science fiction drama The Nevers. Additionally, he wrote the 2012 Marvel Cinematic Universe film The Avengers. Whedon began his professional career working in sitcoms.
