Donald McNichol Sutherland was a Canadian actor born on July 17, 1935, in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. His film career spanned over six decades, and he amassed 251 known acting credits on The Movie Database. Throughout his career, he was nominated for eight Golden Globe Awards and won two for his performances in the television films Citizen X in 1995 and Path to War in 2002. His work in Citizen X also earned him a Primetime Emmy Award. Sutherland was an inductee of the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Canadian Walk of Fame, and he received a Canadian Academy Award for the drama film Threshold in 1981. In 2017, he received an Academy Honorary Award for his contributions to cinema. He passed away on June 20, 2024.
