Woodrow Tracy "Woody" Harrelson, born July 23, 1961, is an American actor known for his role as Woody Boyd, the charmingly naive bartender on the NBC sitcom Cheers, which aired from 1985 to 1993. For this role, he won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Harrelson received Academy Award nominations for Best Actor for The People vs. Larry Flynt and Best Supporting Actor for The Messenger and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. His other notable films include White Men Can't Jump, Natural Born Killers, The Thin Red Line, No Country for Old Men, Seven Pounds, Zombieland, and Seven Psychopaths. He also starred in HBO's True Detective.
