Biography
Diane Kruger is a German actress born Diane Heidkrüger on July 15, 1976, in Algermissen, Lower Saxony, Germany. The daughter of Maria-Theresa and Hans-Heinrich Heidkrüger, she initially pursued ballet and studied with the Royal Ballet in London before an injury ended her dance career. Kruger subsequently transitioned into a career as a model before establishing herself as an actress. Early in her professional acting career, she gained international recognition and was honored with the Trophée Chopard at the Cannes Film Festival. She is known for her work in both English and French-language cinema, as well as her contributions to television.

Kruger achieved prominence in 2004 with two major film roles, appearing as Helen in the epic war film Troy and as Dr. Abigail Chase in the heist film National Treasure. She reprised her role as Dr. Abigail Chase in the 2007 sequel to National Treasure. Her subsequent film credits include the role of Bridget von Hammersmark in Quentin Tarantino's 2009 war film Inglourious Basterds and the character Gina in the 2011 psychological thriller Unknown. In 2017, she made her German-language film debut in Fatih Akin's In the Fade, a performance for which she received recognition at the Cannes Film Festival.
In addition to her film work, Kruger has appeared in television productions. She starred as Detective Sonya Cross in the FX crime drama series The Bridge, which aired from 2013 to 2014. Throughout her career, she has accumulated over 100 acting credits across various media platforms.
