Christoph Waltz is an Austrian-German actor born on October 4, 1956. He gained international acclaim for his portrayal of SS Colonel Hans Landa in Quentin Tarantino's 2009 film Inglourious Basterds. For this role, he received numerous accolades, including the Academy Award, BAFTA, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Supporting Actor. His performance also earned him the Best Actor Award at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. Waltz is recognized for his work in English-language films, often in villainous or supporting roles. He holds Austrian, German, and American citizenship.
