Overview
Dracula is a 2025 Gothic horror film directed by Luc Besson. The story centers on a 15th-century prince who, after the brutal murder of his bride, renounces God and is cursed with eternal life, becoming the immortal warlord Dracula. Driven by a desire to reclaim his lost love from death, he embarks on a blood-soaked crusade. The film stars Caleb Landry Jones, Christoph Waltz, Zoë Bleu, and Guillaume de Tonquédec. This adaptation draws from the legacy of Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel Dracula, a foundational work in vampire fiction told through letters, diary entries, and newspaper articles. Stoker’s novel has inspired numerous films and remains a cornerstone of Gothic horror literature. The 2025 version continues this tradition by reimagining the origin of the iconic vampire character within a medieval Eastern European setting.
