Biography
David McCallum (September 19, 1933 – September 25, 2023) was a Scottish actor and musician. Born in Glasgow to orchestral violinist David McCallum Sr. and cellist Dorothy Dorman, he achieved widespread recognition in the 1960s for his portrayal of secret agent Illya Kuryakin in the television series The Man from U.N.C.L.E. His other television credits include the roles of Carter in Colditz from 1972 to 1974 and Steel in Sapphire & Steel between 1979 and 1982. In 2003, he began his long-running role as medical examiner Dr. Donald Ducky Mallard on the American series NCIS. His film career included an appearance in the 1963 production The Great Escape.
