The series premiered on CBS and is set in New Orleans, a city known for its music, entertainment and decadence. The show investigates criminal cases affecting military personnel in the city. The series is a part of the NCIS franchise, which includes the original NCIS series that was created by Donald P. Bellisario and Don McGill. NCIS: New Orleans is produced by CBS Studios, Wings Productions and When Pigs Fly Incorporated. The pilot was written by Gary Glasberg. The show follows a team of agents as they investigate various cases, including a potential outbreak of a highly infectious disease. The team works to locate the source of the disease and control the outbreak.
