On January 17, the Economic Police Department (PC03) of Hanoi City Police said that Team 7 (PC03 Department) had just coordinated with Market Management Team No. 17 of the Hanoi Market Management Department to discover a “total warehouse of dirty fat”.
After many days of reconnaissance at a number of restaurants and sausage factories in the area, the authorities discovered a warehouse of “dirty fat” deep in a residential area in Thuong Tin district, Hanoi.
Team 7 of PC03 Department in coordination with Market Management Team No. 17 inspected the food gathering and business facility of Mr. Tran Van Duc (41 years old, in Thuy Ung village, Hoa Binh commune, Thuong Tin district).

Here, the authorities discovered that Mr. Duc’s facility was trading beef fat, pig brains, and pig cartilage. Including 5.5 tons of beef fat and 720kg of pig brains without invoices proving origin.
Working with the authorities, Mr. Duc declared that he had purchased beef fat and pig brains floating around the area by contacting by phone, without knowing the address. After that, Mr. Duc’s “general warehouse” sold to people, restaurants, kitchens, and sausage factories in Hanoi and some neighboring provinces. These foods do not have documents proving their origin.
The case is continuing to be handled according to regulations.
