This morning, the Hanoi Taekwondo Federation organized the expanded Hanoi Taekwondo Festival – the first Baekseok University Cup in 2024, at the Gymnasium of the Center for Culture, Information and Sports in Tay Ho district (Hanoi).
Attending the festival were nearly 1,100 martial artists from more than 60 clubs operating in Hanoi city and member clubs of Taekwondo federations in 10 Northern provinces competing at the cultural festival – this sport.

Speaking at the opening of the festival, Chairman of Hanoi Taekwondo Federation Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized:
“Hanoi Open Taekwondo Festival 2024 has the meaning of celebrating the 35th anniversary of Hanoi Taekwondo development, welcoming the official establishment of the Hanoi Taekwondo Federation, aiming to further develop the Taekwondo practice movement in Hanoi capital in particular and the Northern region in general.
In particular, this is also a playground to contribute to the care and physical training, improve and enhance stature, and educate morality – mind – body – beauty for teenage and children students; creating opportunities for athletes to exchange, learn from each other, and compete to demonstrate their trained abilities and expertise.”

At this expanded Hanoi Taekwondo Festival, thousands of martial artists and audiences witnessed the unique performances of martial arts students who are students of Baekseok University, Korea.
Within the framework of the program, martial artists competed in age groups, including: Under 12 years old (born after 2011); from 12 to 14 (born in 2009, 2010, 2011); from 15 to 17 (born in 2006, 2007, 2008); 18 or older (born in 2005 or earlier).

The specific competition contents are as follows: Individual men’s and women’s individual breaking content, for white belt martial artists – under 12 years old (group 1 under 9 years old; group 2 from 9 to 11 years old). Standard boxing competition content for men’s individual, women’s individual, men’s and women’s pairs, for yellow belt martial artists competing in Taegeuk boxing 1 and 2; Blue belt students compete in Taegeuk 3 and 4; Red belt students compete in Taegeuk 5 and 6; Black belt students compete in Taegeuk 7 and 8. Team martial arts competition content: Each team has 5 – 10 athletes (including at least 2 female athletes).

Men’s and women’s individual fighting competition content: Red belt (level 4) or higher can participate, for ages 12 to 14 years old (competition with regular armor, helmet with protective glasses), competition talent according to men’s weight categories under 41kg, 45kg, 49kg, 53kg, 57kg, 61kg; Women under 41kg, 44kg, 47kg, 51kg, 55kg. According to the rules, each athlete can only participate in a maximum of 2 competition events.
Athletes participating in the Festival were awarded medals and certificates. Athletes who achieve first, second and third place in each competition content are awarded Gold, Silver, Bronze medals and Certificates. The organizing committee also awarded the Team Cup to high-achieving units.
