With Sir Ratcliffe’s “backing”, coach Graham Potter is preparing to replace Erik ten Hag?

Coach Ten Hag is about to lose his seat to Potter?

In the middle of this week, MU lost 0-1 to Bayern Munich in the final match of Group A Champions League. This bad result caused MU not only to be eliminated early in the Champions League but also unable to win tickets to play in the Europa League play-off round.

Previously, in round 16 of the Premier League, MU, although playing at home at Old Trafford, lost 0-3 to Bournemouth. This was a match where MU players played very poorly and were fiercely booed and criticized by home fans.

This weekend, MU will have a trip that is predicted to be a little good, a lot of bad at the Anfield stadium of the top team Liverpool in round 17 of the Premier League. More than 9 months ago, MU lost 0-7 to Liverpool at this stadium. In the next match, such a heavy loss scenario is difficult to repeat, but the prospect of MU going empty-handed is completely feasible.

If MU loses to Liverpool, coach Erik ten Hag’s already shaky chair may completely “break”. In recent times, a lot of unfavorable information for coach Ten Hag has appeared, such as his excessive favoring of goalkeeper Onana, his inability to control the dressing room, and his ineffectiveness when adjustments are needed at team times. The ball was having difficulty, the conflict with Sancho could not be resolved… In short, coach Ten Hag was fired this weekend. When MU left Anfield empty-handed, it was not a surprise.

If coach Ten Hag leaves, of course someone must come to replace him. Among many candidates who are considered capable of sitting in the “hot seat” at MU in the near future, according to The Sun (UK), Graham Potter is a very prominent name.

Coach Potter once led Swansea, Brighton and most recently Chelsea in the 2022/2023 season. However, this British military leader was fired in April and has not had a new job since then.

The Sun newspaper said that Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is about to complete the purchase of 25% of MU’s shares and is in charge of football, had a meeting and discussion with Coach Potter. This meeting is said to have taken place in an open atmosphere and the two sides found a common voice about the ability to help MU revive.

Sir Ratcliffe has long expressed his admiration for Coach Potter’s coaching talent and that is a plus point of this strategist. Another notable detail is that Coach Potter has just refused to replace Coach Alex Neil to lead Stoke Club in the Championship. That shows that Coach Potter may be ready to wait to become the new coach of MU in the near future.

The above developments show that time is counting down for coach Ten Hag. He is currently considered to have only one chance left and ironically, that is a very difficult match for MU against a Liverpool that is sublimating and has a very impressive home record. Perhaps, coach Ten Hag’s reign at MU is about to end and change is about to begin with the name Graham Potter.
