Community-based Agricultural Tourism was launched in Hanoi

On December 16, the launching ceremony of the community-based agricultural tourism model – Viet Harvest Agri Tour in Giang Bien ward, Long Bien District, Hanoi city. This is a model implemented by The Asia Foundation (TAF) and Vieted unit, with sponsorship from TAF and the Foundation (GSRD).

Hanoi: Launching an agricultural tourism model associated with the community

The model of agricultural tourism associated with the community – Viet Harvest Agri Tour with the participation of 18 farmers in the clean vegetable farm area, Giang Bien ward, Long Bien district, is built on the foundation of social responsibility associated with the community. with the community, through improving and diversifying income sources for people.

Visitors coming to this agricultural tourism model can experience 3 products: a day as a farmer for adults; agricultural semester tours for students and teenagers; The third tour is green living – healthy living.

With all of these agricultural tours, visitors will experience farming, how to plant, care for and harvest fruit, root vegetables and leafy vegetables. Besides, visitors are also instructed to prepare suitable dishes with clean vegetables in Giang Bien garden. At the same time, experience and explore traditional craft villages such as cooking banh duc, weaving hammocks, and rattan weaving.

Sharing about the agricultural tourism model, Mr. Raj Kumar Director of VietED Center: “Our agricultural model aims at sustainability. TAF and Vieted together came up with the idea of ​​building an agricultural tourism model that does not exceed close and too far from the center of Hanoi capital, where there are agricultural activities and experiences. Therefore, when we embark on implementing the agricultural tourism model, it is based on the existing foundation in the farm – vegetable area. clean Giang Bien ward, Long Bien district, Hanoi.

With the agricultural tourism model, the main nucleus implementing the model chain is 18 farming households in Giang Bien ward. We hope that the agricultural activities of farmers will come closer to domestic and foreign tourists. As well as allowing tourists to experience these tours and farming activities. In addition, I also expect that 18 farming households will be trained to improve their capacity in exploiting tourism locally, and at the same time have access to tourism and travel businesses to jointly exploit tourism activities. tourism, bringing attractive experiences to tourists.”

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan, one of 18 households participating in the agricultural tourism model, said: “When participating in this project and model, we have learned many valuable lessons and experiences. From how Grow clean vegetables and care for them without having to use chemicals or fresh manure from buffaloes and cows.

We learn how to do tourism from communication, behavior, image creation, and promoting our products to tourists. We also visited famous tourist destinations to gain experience. Even though I have just begun to exploit and put it into operation and have not yet earned any income from this model, I feel very happy and have a comfortable spirit when participating in this project and agricultural tourism model.” .

Mr. Nguyen Chi Thanh – Project Expert, Climate Change and Environment, Vietnam shared with Dan Viet that the agricultural tourism model is a “spiritual child” nurtured and developed from a community project. “Improving the livelihoods of farmers in Hanoi’s peri-urban area – Agricultural tourism as a business supporting diverse income sources”.

“This community project aims to create substantive, meaningful values ​​for farmers in general and society in particular. Those values ​​for farmers are improving living standards, creating more income with Agricultural tourism activities, meaningful education about the importance of natural ecosystems, and for society, it is to raise awareness of responsibility for environmental issues.

Agriculture is not only related to crops and livestock but also brings values ​​of experience, learning, relaxation and education about nature and the environment. Through agricultural tourism activities, the project will convey green and sustainable messages to tourists.

We also hope that the community-based agricultural tourism model – Viet Harvest Agri Tour will become a model agricultural tourism model to replicate in most rural areas in Vietnam in the next 5 years.”

It is known that when tourists come to experience agricultural tourism here, they can also visit nearby spiritual tourism including Quan Tinh communal house, Hoi Xa pagoda, Pho Quang pagoda, and Tinh Quang pagoda relic cluster. .
