Overview

Game Night is a 2018 film centered on a couple named Max and Annie who regularly host a weekly game night for their friends. The routine takes an unexpected turn when Max’s brother, Brooks, organizes a murder mystery party for the group. This event is designed to include staged elements such as fake federal agents and hired thugs. The situation escalates when Brooks is kidnapped, an event the participants initially believe is simply another part of the elaborate game. As the group of friends begins to investigate the disappearance, they discover that neither the game nor Brooks are what they initially appeared to be. The characters quickly find themselves in over their heads as they navigate a series of unexpected twists and turns. Throughout the course of one chaotic night, the competitors must work to solve the case while facing the reality that the danger they are experiencing is far more serious than the planned entertainment they originally anticipated.
