Darkwing Duck is an American animated superhero comedy television series produced by Disney Television Animation. Serving as a spin-off of DuckTales, the show aired from 1991 to 1992 on The Disney Afternoon syndicated programming block and on ABC Saturday mornings. The series follows the adventures of the titular superhero, Darkwing Duck, who is aided by his pilot sidekick, Launchpad McQuack. In his secret identity as Drake Mallard, the protagonist lives in a suburban home with his adopted daughter, Gosalyn, and resides next door to the Muddlefoot family. As the first Disney Afternoon series to emphasize action over adventure, the show features the bumbling hero engaging in slapstick battles against both street criminals and supervillains.
