Overview

Animal Kingdom is an American drama television series that aired on TNT from 2016 to 2022. Developed by Jonathan Lisco and executive produced by John Wells, the program consists of six seasons and focuses on a family residing in Southern California whose excessive lifestyle is fueled by their criminal activities. The story begins when seventeen-year-old Joshua J Cody moves in with his freewheeling and estranged relatives following the death of his mother from a heroin overdose. The family is led by a boot-tough matriarch named Janine Smurf Cody and her right-hand man, Baz, who manages the business and makes the decisions. The household also includes the oldest and most dangerous son, Pope, the fearless middle son, Craig, and the youngest, troubled son, Deran. The cast features Shawn Hatosy, Ben Robson, Jake Weary, and Finn Cole. The series explores the dynamics of the Cody clan as they navigate their criminal operations and complex interpersonal relationships within their Southern California beach town environment.
