Biography
Willie Ross was an entertainer born in Bishop Auckland who began his career as a comedian on the North-East club circuit. He gained national recognition as part of the comedy duo Lambert and Ross alongside Peter Lambert. Following the end of that partnership in the 1980s, Ross transitioned into a successful acting career across film, television, and stage. His notable film credits include Rita, Sue and Bob Too, Riff-Raff, and The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover. His television appearances included roles in Our Friends in the North and One Foot in the Grave. Ross died in 2000 at the age of 62 following an accident at his home.
