He is known for his voice work in English-language anime dubs, particularly for InuYasha. Cox gained prominence for playing the character Alec Ramsay, a teenager traveller and horse rider alongside Mickey Rooney as Henry Dailey, in The Family Channel series Adventures of the Black Stallion during the early 1990s. He also gained fame for voicing Ian Kelley, the title character in the animated series Being Ian, and Scattershot, an Autobot in the CGI-animated series Transformers: Cybertron.
